Questions from restaurant owners

Should I put the QR code on menus or table tents?+
Both work, but table tents win on scan rate. A QR code sitting flat in the center of a table gets picked up while customers are seated and waiting. Menus get set aside quickly. If you can only do one, go with a small acrylic table tent holder you can buy for about $2 each.
How big does the QR code need to be on a table card?+
A 1.5 inch square is the minimum for reliable scanning from arm's length, which is about how far away someone holds their phone at a table. Go 2 inches if you can. Anything smaller and older phones start struggling, especially in dim lighting.
What should I actually link the QR code to?+
Your best options in order: (1) a direct URL to your PDF menu hosted on Google Drive or your website, (2) your online ordering page, (3) your Google Business review link. Avoid linking to your homepage. Customers should land exactly where they need to go without clicking further.
Do I need a dynamic QR code if my menu changes seasonally?+
Yes, if your menu URL changes. If you use a stable URL like yourrestaurant.com/menu and just update the file behind it, a static QR code works fine. Can the QR code support multiple languages?+
