Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes never expire. They encode the data directly, so they'll work forever. Dynamic QR codes (which redirect through our servers so you can change the destination later) keep redirecting for as long as your account exists, and the account is free for life.

How do I track how many times my QR code was scanned?

Create a free account (every account includes 10 dynamic QR codes free for life) and save your QR as a dynamic code. Your dashboard will show scan counts, dates, and device breakdown. Static codes don't have tracking by design, because there's no server in the middle.

How is QRCodePrime different from other free QR code generators?

Three things. First, no watermark, ever, on any QR code you download here, including for free accounts. Second, no signup wall in front of the download button. And third, static QR codes are generated entirely in your browser, so the data you encode (a URL, a WiFi password, contact details) never touches our servers. Most free QR sites lock at least one of those behind a paywall or ask for an email before they let you download.

What's the catch? How can this be free?

There isn't one. Static QR codes are cheap for us to serve: no server processing, no analytics logging, no per-code cost. Dynamic QR codes do cost us money to run (redirect servers, scan tracking, storage), and we still include 10 of them free for life with every account. No credit card required, no watermarks, and no ads anywhere: none on the site, none on the redirect a dynamic code passes through. If we ever add a paid option for teams and high volume, it will sit on top of that, and what is free today stays free.

Is QRCodePrime safe? Can you see the data I encode in my QR codes?

No. Static QR codes are generated locally in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The URL, WiFi password, contact info, or whatever you encode never leaves your device. You can verify this by opening your browser's Network tab while generating a code and watching for outbound requests. There are none. Only dynamic QR codes (which require an account) route through our servers, and only so we can redirect them and count scans.
